Visiting
the Okemos Breadsmith is a feast for the senses. Owner
Kent Seggebruch has created a unique shopping experience
in his cozy neighborhood bakery.
Immediately upon entering the shop, your senses will be
awakened by the sweet smell of tasty treats, which you
can watch being baked during the daytime hours by an experienced
retail staff. Italian Seasoned Croutons, a mouth watering
proposition, can be seen coming from the oven during the
day. Delectable dessert breads and mouth watering cookies
are also among the early morning baking that master baker
Kent Seggebruch produces to entice your senses.
Making your way past the delightfully stocked shelves
full of beautiful dipping oils, honey cremes and jams
to the bread shelves, you will get drawn in by the glass
display chock full of tasty samples and those fresh-from-the-oven
scones, sweet goods and beautifully displayed epis-an
artfully cut French bread. The "no touching"
rule applies to all products for sale, but you are always
encouraged to get the full sensory experience through
a generous free sample of any of our breads, sweet goods
or jams and oils.
Stopping in to the Okemos Breadsmith while shopping for
a party? Let the knowledgeable staff help you select the
perfect breads to complement the party theme. Take a moment
to ask about the myriad of provocative creations Kent
can produce. Called "décor" breads, applying
to their decorative intent, anything from breadbaskets,
to "bread lettered" signs to shaped animals
or floral arrangements can be produced. Browse the shop
to catch a few of these creations on display.
Be prepared for anything at Breadsmith of Okemos! Grab
a cup of fresh brewed coffee and admire the impressionistic
wheat field mural and the tasty products to enhance your
hearth baked bread selection. Or perhaps your visit will
be enlivened by a conversation with another patron-someone
who'll turn you on to their favorite bread selection!
Come share the experience!
